Book 28: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Perksofbeingwallflower1The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Oh goodness. Although the ending was spoiled for me by one of my close friends who had assumed that I already read it, ack the curse of being known as the bookworm, I still enjoyed it! I actually watched the movie before reading the novel (by a whole 3 days 🙂 ), breaking one of my reading rules but I think that the movie is very on-par with the book. But the movie is neither here nor there, but you should check out the mook post ( a mook is a movie +book that blog is awesome!) here. Anyways. I don’t usually connect with crying characters, but Charlie just pulled and pulled on my heartstrings. I felt like he cried in every letter he wrote to his friend, but I didn’t hate it. And as if I was Charlie I found my cheeks to be wet a lot through reading this book (I have cried while reading before, and am proud of those moments, but it was a little weird for me to find my eyes tearing up so often).

Quote:

“Anything to not feel like crying” (94) ← summary of the book right there. Haha.
