Book 67: Hero

heroHero (Woodcutter Sisters #2) by Alethea Kontis

This book is all about Saturday Woodcutter.  She was a breath of fresh air.  She feels out of place because she didn’t get any of the fey magic, her sisters seem to have in abundance, but she is still the hero.  I loved how snarky she was to everyone.  My favorite thing about this book is that Thursday came.  The pirate queen, seems like she has quite the story to tell, and for the brief portion of the book she was in, she was very amusing.  But the big cameo, had to be JACK, he’s fricken alive, and has just been hanging about while his family thought him dead.  Other characters of note is Betwixt.  On the love front, I liked Peregrine, he was a love interest who wasn’t annoying, and I liked how he was patient and thoughtful on how he should deal with his feelings.  The couple is so cute!!! I can’t wait to read the next book.

Quotes:

“And because he had food, she followed him.” Yes, fooooooood is such a good motivator.

“Can I just fight you now? Please? I’d rather die than continue this conversation.” hahahaha oh Saturday

“Instead of batting their eyes at idiots, young girls will start taking up stick swords to slay a dragon and save the prince.”  YES! you be a role model, girls can so kick-ass

“You cannot call yourself a proper warrior if you refuse to use all the weapons in your arsenal.”For some reason I pictured Susan from the Chronicles of Narnia(movie version) saying this as she applies lipstick,

“So,” he said finally. “You love me.” “You loved me first.” This was too cute for words. ahhhhh ❤
